We are looking for a Curator/Exhibitions Officer to take over the programming of our venues. Arcade Cardiff CIC, located within Queens Arcade in Cardiff city centre, has recently undergone a period of growth and change. Aside from our gallery space Arcade Cardiff, in 2017 we expanded into an additional space Three Doors Up and initiated an exchange programme with galleries in France. In 2018 we will be extending and consolidating this activity. To continue this period of exciting developments we are looking for an emerging dedicated Curator/Exhibitions Officer to join our small team.
While the Director will have overall responsibility for Arcade Cardiff CIC’s two public spaces, the Curator/Exhibitions Officer will work with them, leading on the programming of exhibitions and projects, selecting artists and dealing with applications. Alongside the Director, the Curator/Exhibitions Officer will be expected to take a ‘hands on’ approach, helping plan for logistical and equipment requirements and staffing, maintaining safe working environments, and where needed assisting on practical fabrication for exhibitions.
We are looking for a Curator/Exhibitions Officer who can play a crucial role in developing our existing artistic activities, with keen attention to our audience as well as nurturing artistic opportunity.
