We would like to offer one artist a six month residency in the Arcadecardiff basement studio with a view to exhibit in the gallery at the end of the residency, from the beginning of March 2018 to the beginning Sept 2018, with a show/event at the end of residency.
Arcadecardiff is an artist-led contemporary project space and gallery in the Queens Arcade shopping centre, right in the middle of Cardiff. We are here to support emerging and established artists, and to give artists a platform to take risks and try new things. We exhibit a new show every three weeks, and this makes for a vibrant and energised atmosphere.
The artist in residency will have free use of the spacious basement studio beneath the gallery; and the mentorship, support and guidance of gallery staff and associated artists. The artist will also have the chance to be involved in the daily work of the gallery, gaining valuable experience and meeting lots of other art practitioners. There is no artist fee associated with this residency.
At the end of the six month residency the artist will have the opportunity to exhibit their work in the gallery, to give a talk and run a workshop with the public.

Arweinwyd Arcadecardiff gan artistiaid fel gofod prosiect cyfoes ac oriel yng nghanolfan siopa Arcêd Y Frenhines, yng nghanol Caerdydd. Rydym yma i gefnogi artistiaid newydd a sefydledig, ac i roi llwyfan i fentro ac arddangos a thrio pethau newydd. Rydym yn arddangos sioe newydd bob pythefnos sydd gan greu awyrgylch bywiog ac egniol.
Bydd yr artist preswyl yn cael defnydd am ddim o’r stiwdio ynghyd a chymorth ac arweiniad o staff yr oriel ac artistiaid cysylltiedig. Bydd yr artist hefyd yn cael y cyfle i fod yn rhan o gwaith dydd i ddydd yr oriel, gan ennill profiad a chwrdd artistiaid eraill. Nid oes ffi artist sy’n gysylltiedig â’r preswyl hwn.
Ar ddiwedd y cyfnod preswyl chwe mis bydd yr artist yn cael y cyfle i arddangos eu gwaith yn yr oriel, i roi sgwrs a rhedeg gweithdy gyda’r cyhoedd.

Arcadecardiff offer one artist a six month residency in the Arcadecardiff with a view to exhibit in the gallery at the end of the residency.

Details of the next residency will feature on this website. Our current residency artist is Mandy lane who is with us until November 2017.
