I am in my final year of study – BA (Hons) Art Practice degree at the University of South Wales, Treforest, Pontypridd CF37 1DL.  I will graduate June 2018.

Succinctly, my art practice is about spatiality.  A lifetime obsession grappling with paradoxical spatial conundrums, revealing the hidden and the seen, which occupy the same dimensional space.  I work mostly in oils on canvas or board.

Recently my artworks have been using inkblots as inspiration. Working from Rorschach inkblot unusual shapes appear, eyes, faces, hands; why do I see these? I used these shapes to create the original idea for this artwork while I am inspired by Salvador Dali painting The Metamorphosis of Narcissus for the figure in the foreground. I added tears to reflect my state of mind at the time of making this painting. The hands represent the light of hope as even in the darkest times there is always hope.

My current practice explores conversation and a feeling of belonging and home. I am experimenting with documenting sound as a way of expressing its ephemeral quality and using the public response as my main focus for home whilst incorporating my personal feelings. I prefer to work in a sculptural medium which exposes the process of production giving them an imperfect quality.
